On June 2, Osh State University launched the Eurasian Economic Geographers Congress. The event has drawn participation from geographers, ecologists, and researchers representing China, Germany, Russia, Serbia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, along with delegates from prominent global research institutions.
Participants are presenting research on topics such as spatial development across Eurasia, the green economy, climate change impacts, regional transport routes, and key geopolitical dynamics. The congress features two main sections, with in-depth discussions covering environmental, economic, and social challenges, as well as tourism, migration, and regional planning.
The event is jointly organized by Osh State University, Kyrgyz National University, Bishkek State University, the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Russian Association of Public Geographers.
Running through June 9, the congress will also include excursions to Lenin Peak and the Issyk-Ata resort, with further activities planned in Bishkek and Cholpon-Ata.
The congress aims to foster international scientific collaboration and help shape new directions in socio-geographical research across the Eurasian region.
