Osh State University’s Confucius Institute Held a Cultural Event for Aitmatov Day.

Osh, December 2, 2025 – The Confucius Institute of Osh State University successfully organized a cultural and educational event dedicated to Aitmatov Day at the Toktogul Satylganov Osh Regional Library. The event aimed to strengthen cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and China, introduce the local community to Chinese culture, and promote cultural exchange. The event opened with performances by Confucius Institute students, who showcased classical Chinese dance and martial arts, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere for attendees. Chinese Director of the Institute, An Deyuan, delivered a speech highlighting the important role of libraries in spreading knowledge and fostering cross-cultural understanding. The Kyrgyz-side director also shared insights on the significance of reading and education in human development. The library administration praised the Confucius Institute’s work, noting that the newly established Chinese-language book corner represents a new stage in cultural cooperation. During the event, the Institute also donated a collection of Chinese books to the library. Interactive workshops on calligraphy, handicrafts, paper cutting, and tea culture were held, allowing participants to experience Chinese traditions firsthand. The event concluded with a guided tour of the library’s facilities. This initiative provided the local community with an opportunity to explore Chinese culture and reinforced friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and China. Osh State University’s Confucius Institute plans to continue hosting similar cultural and educational events in the future.
