The 2nd Joint Coordinating Committee Meeting of the SATREPS Project Held at Osh State University

On September 10, 2026, Osh State University hosted the 2nd Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting of the international SATREPS project.
The meeting was held in a hybrid format and brought together representatives of Osh State University, the Institute of Science Tokyo, JICA, JST, ministries and government institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as other project partners and stakeholders.
The JCC meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress of the project, discuss achievements and ongoing activities, and confirm the next steps for implementation.
The participants discussed the development of the IRCAPS research infrastructure, the installation and operation of air quality monitoring equipment, laboratory development, technical training, research activities, and future cooperation.
Particular attention was given to the further development of IRCAPS as a modern research center for air pollution studies and to strengthening scientific and technical capacity in Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between Kyrgyz and Japanese institutions in addressing environmental and public health challenges through scientific research and reliable air quality data.
The 2nd JCC Meeting marked another important milestone in the implementation of the SATREPS project and in the development of long-term international scientific cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
