A brief history of the center:
NEXT GENERATION HUB - began its activities as an independent structure under Osh State University on May 31, 2024. It is one of the main innovation centers of OshSU, aimed at developing high-tech education. The center is the only branch in Central Asia dedicated to studying robotics.
In honor of the 85th anniversary of Osh State University, the “Next Generation Hub” center was opened at the university. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov, the Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen, representatives of local authorities, executives of the Chinese company Jiangsu Huibo Robotics, and guests from abroad.
The center, opened in collaboration with Jiangsu Huibo Robotics, is the first laboratory center in the Central Asian region and among the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Chairman Akylbek Japarov noted that this center would contribute not only to the development of robotics in Kyrgyzstan but also in neighboring countries.
On a 500-square-meter area allocated by Osh State University, the company installed robotic systems and the necessary equipment. A total investment of 7 million US dollars was attracted to establish the laboratory center.
Since 2024, the center has been headed by instructor Tilek Mutalibovich Umarov.
“This center will first serve as an educational laboratory for students and later transform into a training and production hub. We aim to create an opportunity for children interested in robotics to attend courses here from an early age, gain practical experience, and then continue their studies at the bachelor’s level. I believe that the ‘Next Generation HUB’ will become a modern center that meets the demands of today’s world,” said Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov.
In April 2024, a bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between Jiangsu Huibo Robotics and Osh State University in Suzhou, China.
The center will serve as a modern educational environment for students, combining knowledge, science, and practice in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, and information technology. It will be a place where teachers, experts, engineers, and entrepreneurs come together. The center also plans to facilitate the employment of robotics graduates in local and international industrial companies.
