ABOUT THE CENTER

The INTER-INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH CENTER FOR AIR POLLUTION STUDIES - IRCAPS Center

is a research and educational platform aimed at developing a scientifically grounded system for assessing ambient air pollution in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Center’s activities are based on the integration of satellite data, ground-based measurements, regional chemical transport modeling, and assessment of the health impacts of air pollution.

IRCAPS brings together researchers from various scientific and educational institutions and promotes the development of interdisciplinary research in the fields of environmental science, public health, and sustainable development. The Center also plays an important role in training young scientists, PhD students, and specialists, as well as in strengthening international scientific cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
