Based on the regulatory legal acts of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Charter of the institution “Osh State University”, approved by Order No. 556/1 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic dated February 16, 2023, as well as the decision of the Academic Council of OshSU (Protocol No. 6 dated March 1, 2024), and in accordance with the Order of the Rector of Osh State University, Professor K.G. Kozhobekov No. 976-FHD/24 dated March 4, 2024, the “Institute of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering and Information Technologies” was established under Osh State University by merging the “Physics-Engineering” and “Mathematics and Information Technologies” faculties. The Institute of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering and Information Technologies began its work as an independent structural unit within Osh State University.

After the establishment of the institute, the Distance and Part-time Department was renamed the Digitalization and E-Learning Department.
