
In 2017, from the structure of the Department of Fundamental and Theoretical Disciplines of the faculty, the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines was created (July 6, 2017, protocol No. 8). On August 25, 2017, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor Raykan Apzhaparovna Ismailova was appointed Acting Head of the Department, and since July 2018, based on the results of a competitive selection, she was elected Head of the Department. Associate Professor R. Ismailova made a significant contribution to the formation of the teaching staff, the development of the material and technical base, the organization of educational and upbringing processes, as well as the establishment of the department. In the 2024–2025 academic year, the department was temporarily headed by Gulkayir Zholonovna Orunbaeva. Under her leadership, the activities of the department continued without interruption, and educational and upbringing processes were successfully carried out. Currently, the department is headed by Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Semetei Manasovich Amiraliev. He is the author of a number of scientific works in the fields of linguoculturology, cognitive linguistics, and ethnolinguistics, and he actively participates in international projects and scientific research.
